Samsung’s Gear S to Debut on AT&T This Fall

Samsung’s most recently launched smartwatch, the Gear S, will soon be available to AT&T customers. This third-generation Samsung smartwatch boasts innovative features such as a curved 2-inch screen, call and text capabilities and 3G connectivity.

More about the Samsung Gear S

The Samsung Gear S is the sixth smartwatch to be released by the Korean electronics giant this year. This watch highlights the company’s zeal in affording consumers throughout the world with numerous options in terms of connected devices. But what does this wearable offer that sets it apart from the many smartwatches that have preceded it?

  • Curved Screen
Samsung’s latest connected watch features a curved 2-inch Super AMOLED screen. This display sports 360×480 resolution, resulting in a vivid visual experience that truly stands out from what is available on other smartwatches. This type of screen is great for displaying apps and notifications and also fits comfortably on the hand. It also offers large screen real estate – a fact that will sit well with consumers who want to use their smartwatch to text or make call on the go.

  • 3G Capabilities and Wi-Fi
The Gear S comes equipped with Wi-Fi connectivity and can run on both 2G and 3G networks. Users can connect their device to AT&T’s reliable network to access emails, social media and make calls.

  • Speaker Phone for Making and Receiving Calls
With the Gear S, making and receiving calls is much easier than you might imagine. Since the phone offers speaker phone functionality, users can keep connected even when their phone is not available.

  • QWERTY Keyboard for Easy Texting
Users can also take advantage of the watch’s 2-inch screen and access text messaging features thanks to the device’s QWERTY keyboard. Though this keyboard offers limited keyboard functionality, the Gear S is a good choice for those who on occasion want to leave their phone behind while staying connected.

  • Long-lasting Battery
The lack of a long-lasting battery is one issue that has plagued smartwatches like the Samsung Gear Live, LG G Watch and Motorola Moto 360. Samsung has sought to tackle this issue with their latest smartwatch which offers a 300 mAh battery said to last up to two days as well as a snap-on charger. The snap-on battery charger offers the perfect solution for on-the-go users since it comes with a built-in 350mAh battery, enabling users to get more juice without the need of a power outlet. This trumps even the Moto 360’s charging dock when it comes to ease of use and portability.

Samsung Gear S Availability on AT&T’s Network

According to AT&T, the Gear S will become available later this fall. The company will also provide details regarding pricing at a later date.

AT&T customers access a wide range of connected devices, from the latest handsets and tablets to next-generation wearables. The Samsung Gear S is the most recently announced smartwatch which the company plans to add to its award-winning network. The wearable, which will become available this fall, offers interesting features such as a curved 2-inch screen, 3G connectivity and a long-lasting battery.
