AT&T Digital Life to Integrate Products from Samsung and LG

At the recent CES event in Las Vegas, AT&T announced plans to diversify its Digital Life home security and automation service by incorporating products from companies which include Samsung, Qualcomm Life Inc., LG and Lutron Electronics. By incorporating these products in an open platform, AT&T customers will be able to add more features to their Digital Life service and enjoy a more flexible and advanced experience.

With this new move towards an open platform, AT&T plans to also allow its app to sit at the forefront of integration. The Digital Life app will enable users to integrate new products from Samsung and other companies, products which customers can control with their smartphones.

Benefits of New Digital Life Products and Services

This plan highlights AT&T’s recognition of the fast-paced movement towards smart home development and the Internet of Things (IoT) within the worldwide consumer electronics industry. It also highlights the company’s commitment to offering consumers the best services possible through integration and innovation. Some of the latest products and services which customers will now be able to integrate within their customised Digital Life packages include the following:

Samsung SmartCam HP Pro

This Wi-Fi camera offers intuitive controls which make it easy for customers to keep an eye on their home. With this added option, customers will be able access extraordinary image quality due to the camera’s 1080p Full HD video features. In addition to high quality video surveillance, customers will be able to access motion detection features as well as notifications when individuals or pets move across predetermined motion zones. Wide Dynamic Range (WDR), IR cut filter and Samsung Light Enhancer technology are a sample of SmartCam HP’s additional features.

Qualcomm Life 2net Platform/ Hub

The Qualcomm platform will provide consumers the opportunity to transmit biometric data such as weight, blood pressure, heart rate and so forth across the Digital Life app. Such a feature would expand the capabilities of Digital Life by allowing customers to manage their health as well as the health of others remotely. This would offer a unique opportunity to AT&T customers who want to customise their smart home package with health and fitness as a priority.

LG WebOS Smart TV (with AllJoyn features)

With a LG WebOS Smart TV your TV can become the hub of your home automation service. This enables AT&T customers to access notifications and alerts from Digital Life on their TV screen. With Digital Life connected to smartphones as well as the TVs, customers will be able to have a more dynamic and integrated smart home experience both within and outside of the home.

Lutron Shades and Energy-saving Lighting

By integrating Lutron products within the Digital Life experience, customers will have more options available to them in terms of energy control. They’ll be able to control Lutron shades and lighting products at the tap of a finger by using the Digital Life app, thereby facilitating greater energy-saving options for their home.

AT&T’S announcement of plans to offer an open security and home automation platform by integrating services from companies like Samsung, LG, Lutron and Qualcomm Life, Inc. highlights a new wave of possibilities for AT&T home owners. This new move will offer greater opportunities for innovative services as users save energy and money while controlling their home and protecting what matters most.
