When we think of tablet makers, Dell definitely won’t be the first to slip off the tip of our tongue. However, this company made a grand entrance into the high-end tablet market with its midsized Dell Venue 8 7000 Android tablet. This tablet comes with impressive specs including an ultra-thin design, astoundingly sharp OLED Full HD display, powerful processor, and depth-sensing cameras. These features make it one of the most striking Android tablets of 2015.

In addition to being the world’s thinnest tablet, the Venue 8 7000 boasts an 8-inch 2560x1600 resolution Full HD (FHD) display with 359ppi. This results in an impressive viewing experience whether users are watching HD movies, playing game or consuming other forms of media.

 The screen comes with its disadvantages though. One main challenge is outdoor viewing. Since the Dell Venue features an OLED display, content on the FHD display is difficult to view in direct sunlight.

Those who choose to purchase this tablet will have lots to be proud of. In addition to its thin design and stunning display, the 2015 Dell tablet comes equipped with a 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor. This mean machine of a processor results in glitch-free performance. The tablet handles graphic-intensive game without hiccups, displaying them in vivid color due to its PowerVR G6430 GPU.

Dell Venue 8 7000 also boasts a battery that on average lasts up to 10 hours as well as 2GB of RAM, a 16GB hard drive and up to 512GB  expandable storage. With this device, users will have little need to worry about performance, battery life or storage.

Software

In terms of software, the Dell’s recent tablet falls short. That’s because it runs Android 4.4 Kit Kat instead of the latest version of Android, the new and improved Lollipop 5.0. For some consumers, this won’t really be an issue. All they probably want is a tablet that offers bang for their buck, ultra-portability or unique camera features. But if you’re the kind of user who wants to be in on the latest technology, no doubt you’ll be wanting more, especially since Google released Android 5.0 in 2014.

The Dell Venue 8 7000 is now the thinnest tablet in the world. But it’s far more than that. The 2015 Dell tablet comes with a unique, almost bezel-less design, FHD display, powerful processor and battery as well as 3D camera technology. Though it runs Android Kitkat instead of Lollipop, the Dell Venue tablet is way ahead of its competition based on its aforementioned features.
